Job Description

The Design Engineer - Electronics plays a key role in the product development process, by developing and validating prototypes, refining the design into a scalable solution, and finally launching products into full-scale production. They will lead technical reviews with cross-functional teams, manufacturing scale-up of new and updated products and other activities necessary for successful New Product Introductions.

Essential Functions:



Work with multidisciplinary design team to design and bring to life LED solutions to resolve customer needs across several market segments Design electronic circuits, firmware, and LED solutions to resolve various customer needs for various market segments. Establish and manage the test plans to validate design functionality, coordinate with technicians to confirm compliance to specifications (EMI, temperature, vibration, etc.) and reliability. Prepare and present design reviews to cross-functional team and management with clear documentation to support functionality of the design and compliance to specifications Work with supply chain function to scale up new / updated products in manufacturing Interact with global teams within GE Current, at vendors and customers to design new LED systems with state-of-the-art performance Work in multiple development projects and meet established deadlines Use clear thinking to translate functional specifications into design requirements Leverage external focus to improve skills in the face of rapidly evolving technology

Additional Responsibilities:



Support Manufacturing functions in process, materials / components improvement projects Support Sourcing functions in cost optimization and alternate AVL projects Contribute to Multi Generation Product Development (MGPD) planning as appropriate Develop considerable product knowledge - be a 'Trusted Technical Advisor' to Product Management / Commercial teams

Qualifications:



Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent 5+ years of experience in similarly situated position Knowledge/experience in hardware/digital electronics and power supply design Knowledge/experience in firmware design (C, C++) Working knowledge of ORCAD, Altium, PSPICE, MathCAD Ability to debug and optimize for power density, thermal dissipation, firmware, and EMC performance Experience with design for manufacturing, launching solutions into manufacturing

Compensation




The position has a compensation package inclusive of base, bonus (if eligible), benefits, 401k contribution, time off, recognition awards and more. This salary range is $72,000-$85,000.
