What You Will Do

In this role, you will play a key part in both the design development and project execution phases. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Design Support & Technical Coordination

Develop and refine design concepts, technical drawings, and layouts using CAD or REVIT tools. Detail mechanical, plumbing, and other technical connections required for laboratory casework and equipment. Prepare accurate take-offs to support quoting and cost estimates. Produce and update shop drawings following project award. Review architectural, mechanical, and other technical drawings to ensure feasibility and alignment with project requirements. Support the sales team by completing technical detailing during the sales process, helping to reduce administrative burden and enable more client-facing activity. Collaborate with internal teams--including Project Managers, Client Relations, Sales, and Installers--to clarify design details and confirm installation requirements.

Project Administration & Logistics

Maintain accurate project documentation, including financial records, meeting minutes, action items, and organized project files. Track and follow up on tasks to keep projects moving smoothly. Locate, update, and share files promptly to support decision-making and client communication. Coordinate shipping, receiving, and delivery logistics for project materials. Assist with procurement follow-ups, vendor coordination, and invoicing.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with Project Managers and the Client Relations team on design updates, documentation, and process management. Support multidisciplinary teams by maintaining drawing standards, templates, and internal documentation formats. Provide timely, proactive communication to resolve issues and maintain project readiness.

What You Bring to The Table

3+ years of experience in design coordination, drafting, laboratory solutions, construction technology, logistics, or related technical environments. Strong proficiency with AutoCAD, REVIT, or other Autodesk software (SolidWorks an asset). Ability to read, interpret, and review technical drawings and spatial layouts. A technical mindset with strong documentation, data management, and process-tracking capabilities. Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy. Confident, clear communicator with professional assertiveness and the ability to be "thick-skinned" when needed. Familiarity with ERP or project management systems (LabPro, Procore, Smartsheet, MS Projects, or similar). A growth-oriented, coachable mindset--ideally someone hungry to learn, take ownership, and continue developing their technical career.

Nice to Haves

Experience with laboratory casework or architectural fit-out projects. Prior exposure to logistics, procurement, or project coordination. Post-secondary education in design, drafting, construction technology, or a related field.
