We are seeking a skilled Dentist to join our dental practice in a very unique environment. The Dentist will be responsible for providing and coordinating essential dental services to inmates in a correctional setting. The role involves delivering primary dental care, including x-rays and health promotion, in compliance with federal legislation, provincial standards and policies. The Dentist must collaborate with the institution's multi-disciplinary health services team and ensure continuity and integration of care, including coordination with external dental specialists. The ideal candidate will have a background in general dentistry and a passion for providing exceptional patient care.
Duties
Provide primary dental care and health promotion.
Prepare clinic lists and triage appointment schedules.
Manage all aspects of dental care services.
Approve recommendations from external dental providers.
Document assessments, treatments, and consultations.
Consult with Medical Team on equipment and supplies.
Supervise Dental Assistant
Participate in grievance/investigation processes as needed.
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Work with DA to ensure compliance with sterilization standards and documentation protocols.
Requirements
Licensed to practice dentistry in Ontario.
Minimum 6 months of recent experience as a practicing dentist.
Fluent in English.
Ability to obtain a governement clearance
