The Team:

  • The Medical Authorization Centre Dental Team specializes in the authorization and reimbursement of dental benefits
  • Together with your Dental peers, you will develop a high level of knowledge in the programs we administer and learn everyday!

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, pend, and process requests for dental services that require special authorization consideration, and prepare packages that require review from dental consultant;
  • Administer processes for special authorization decisions through the interactive use of telecommunications and applied on-line technology;
  • Call and or draft requests for additional information from dentist and/or dental specialists for more information/diagnostics when necessary, or requested by the dental consultant;
  • Update requests according to decisions rendered to allow for real time adjudication when the dental treatment authorized is rendered;
  • Create and send the appropriate decision letter to the client and/or provider to notify them of the outcome of their request;
  • Utilizes dental background, knowledge, and experience to assess requests;
  • Liaison with the customers and other health care professionals to ensure treatment requests are appropriately administered;
  • Provides a positive and efficient customer service experience for providers and clients.
  • In this role you will respond to requests from clients and providers in both official languages.

As the ideal candidate, you possess the following qualifications:
  • Education: Successful completion of a recognized post-secondary Dental Assisting or Dental Hygiene program.
  • Work Experience: The ideal candidate will have relative work experience in a dental environment
  • Experience working in an office and or customer service experience would be considered an asset
  • Experience with quick and accurate data entry and knowledge of claims processing
  • Eligibility and claims systems would be considered an asset
  • Computer Skills: Experience working with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Language Skills: Bilingualism (English and French) is a strong asset
This role can be remote (working from home) anywhere within Canada.

Working hours: No evenings, no weekends:

British Columbia: 8:00am-4:30pm PST

Alberta: 9:00am-5:30pm MST

Ontario/Quebec: 11:00am-7:30pm EST

Security Clearance:
  • In conjunction with our contract with the Federal Government, you will be required to have Reliability Status Clearance (Enhanced Level B) through the Public Works and Government Services Canada Department prior to your first day. This includes; Fingerprinting, Criminal Record Check and Credit Check.
Working Conditions and Work from Home requirements:
  • Employee may be subject to internal physical site inspections
  • Private working area that has a locked door, secure locked perimeter doors (patio doors require a locking bar or pin), an approved locking file cabinet and a locked office space in a controllable environment
  • Employees must connect to an approved home network (we would either provide or specify the acceptable routers/connectivity equipment)
  • No default passwords if using a home router etc. and the password must be compliant with our security policies
  • Work area must be private and free of household noise
  • Location of the work area mitigates risks to privacy; for example, that information on the monitor can only be viewed by the employee. The use of privacy screens is required if the home is shared with others.
  • E-work space must be secured before walking away
  • Headset is mandatory i.e. no speaker phone so family or roommates cannot hear others on the call
