The Dental Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment. This role involves managing the front desk, scheduling appointments, handling patient inquiries, processing billing, and maintaining accurate records. The receptionist supports smooth daily operations of the dental office while delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet patients in a warm, friendly, and professional manner.
Manage phone calls, emails, and patient inquiries promptly and courteously.
Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using practice management software.
Verify insurance information and process claims as required.
Collect payments, issue receipts, and maintain accurate financial records.
Ensure patient records are accurate, complete, and securely maintained.
Prepare and manage forms, documents, and correspondence.
Assist with patient check-in and check-out procedures.
Coordinate with dental assistants, hygienists, and dentists to optimize patient flow.
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.
Uphold patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and office policies.
Qualifications and Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent (college or dental administration training is an asset).
Previous experience as a receptionist, preferably in a dental or medical office.
Knowledge of dental terminology and insurance procedures is an advantage.
Proficiency with dental practice management software (e.g. ABEL DENT) and MS Office.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain calm under pressure.
