Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing excellent patient care and education, ensuring that our patients maintain optimal oral health. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a crucial role in the prevention of dental diseases and the promotion of overall wellness.

We are a long standing dental clinic in the coastal city of Powell River, BC for past 25+ yrs. We have a relaxed yet professional atmosphere where every team member works like a family to help each other in order to provide quality dental care to our loyal patient base. We believe in educating our patients about their dental health and strive to make a positive impact in their dental and overall health. Our office is fully digital with Maxident charting and CADI imaging software. Cavitron and AIR FLOW Master Piezon Air polisher are also available in the hygiene operatories.

We work 8am-4 pm, Mon-Fri with half an hour unpaid lunch break.

2 yrs work contract preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform thorough dental cleanings and examinations for patients of all ages. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits. Update patient charts, radiographs, IO photos etc. Sterilize hygiene instruments and disinfect the hygiene operatory. Document patient treatment plans and maintain accurate records in the software. Assist in the management of patient flow to ensure efficient office operations. Collaborate with dentists to provide comprehensive care. Stay updated on advancements in dental hygiene practices and medical terminology.

Qualifications

Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist. Previous experience in a dental office setting is preferred but new grads also welcome to apply. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients. Familiarity with Maxident software is advantageous. Understanding of medical terminology related to dental health.
