Job Overview
We are a locally owned start-up dental practice seeking a dedicated and patient-focused
Dental Hygienist
to join our team in a
casual capacity
. This role is ideal for a hygienist looking for flexibility as our practice continues to grow. As the office becomes busier, there will be opportunities to transition into a more regular or permanent position with additional benefits (to be discussed individually).
We are a
Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) office
. Previous GBT experience is an asset, but on-the-job training will be provided if needed.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provide thorough dental hygiene care, including scaling, polishing, and GBT-based biofilm management.
Conduct comprehensive periodontal assessments and charting.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and individualized treatment recommendations.
Document findings, treatment, and recommendations accurately in
Open Dental Software
.
Take diagnostic images as required (digital radiographs, intraoral photos).
Collaborate with the dental team to provide patient-centered care.
Maintain infection control and sterilization protocols to ensure a safe environment.
Uphold professional standards and promote a positive, welcoming patient experience.
Skills & Qualifications
Registered Dental Hygienist with active license in Alberta.
Previous GBT experience is an asset (training provided if needed).
Strong knowledge of periodontal assessment and treatment planning.
Proficiency with
Open Dental Software
for charting, scheduling, and patient records.
Experience with digital imaging systems (e.g., digital radiographs, intraoral photos).
Excellent communication and patient education skills.
Positive attitude, team-player mentality, and patient-focused approach.
