We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a passion for patient care, and proficiency with dental software systems. The Dental Hygienist will be responsible for performing cleanings, patient assessments, and supporting overall patient health and safety within the clinic. Experience with Dentrix, infection control protocols, and dental terminology is essential to ensure compliance and high-quality care.
Responsibilities
Perform dental prophylaxis, including scaling and polishing of teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, reviewing medical history, and evaluating oral health status.
Assist with chairside procedures such as medical imaging, medical coding, and documentation review.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions.
Maintain accurate and detailed dental records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Support infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure a sterile environment.
Utilize dental software systems Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and record keeping.
Collaborate with dentists during procedures involving general dentistry or pediatric dentistry cases.
Monitor patient comfort levels and provide compassionate care tailored to pediatric or adult patients.
Follow all safety guidelines related to anatomy knowledge, medical imaging, and infection control standards.
Experience
Prior experience working in a dental office or clinic setting is required; familiarity with dental assisting and pediatric dentistry is preferred.
Proficiency with Dentrix is highly desirable.
Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding enhances effectiveness in this role.
Experience with four-handed dentistry techniques and chairside assisting is advantageous.
Understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, anatomy knowledge, and HIPAA compliance is essential for maintaining high standards of patient safety.
Candidates should demonstrate excellent patient care skills, attention to detail in documentation review, and the ability to work efficiently within a team environment focused on delivering exceptional dental services.
