What we need from you:
Successful completion of a Dental Hygiene Diploma or, Hygiene Degree program
Registered with the CDHO
Valid CPR Certification
At least 2 years of experience as a Registered Dental Hygienist
Experience using Open Dental software in an asset
You will be team-focused, problem solver, known for your ability to build professional relationships with patients
Proactive attitude
Strong patient relations and communication skills
Demonstrated the ability to manage multiple priorities
Successful completion of an IPAC and Health safety Course
What you'll be adding to the team:
Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history
Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis
Sterilize and disinfect instruments, set up instrument trays and prepare materials
Take x-rays or dental impressions
Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination
Clean and help protect patients' teeth (e.g. remove plaque or apply fluoride)
Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques)
Give instructions to patients after operations or other dental procedures
Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases (including oral cancer)
Maintain documentation and charts on each patient
Monitor supplies
Punctuality and reliability are essential
Knowledge of all types of dental procedures
Team player with a positive work ethic
Excellent interpersonal and verbal skills to maintain professional rapport with patients and staff members
Detail oriented, organized, fast learner and able to prioritize responsibilities according to office needs
Superior communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $52.00-$55.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 24 per week
