We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment. Hours: Mondays 4-8
Thursdays. 8-430
Fridays 7-330
Saturdays alternating 830-2
Duties
Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing to maintain oral health.
Take and record vital signs, medical history, and assess patient health status prior to procedures.
Assist with medical imaging procedures such as X-rays while ensuring proper aseptic technique.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records using EMR systems like Dentrix.
Ensure infection control standards are strictly followed in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Support pediatric dentistry procedures by providing age-appropriate patient care and comfort.
Assist dentists during various treatments with chairside assisting, including four-handed dentistry techniques.
Review medical records and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
Adhere to all dental office policies related to medical coding, documentation review, and infection prevention.
Skills
Proficiency with dental software such as Dentrix.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control protocols.
Experience with pediatric dentistry and general dentistry procedures.
Ability to perform chairside assisting with competence in four-handed dentistry techniques.
Familiarity with vital signs measurement, medical imaging, and medical records management.
Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically.
Knowledge of HIPAA compliance, medical coding, and documentation review processes.
Ability to work efficiently within a team environment while maintaining high standards of aseptic technique.
Prior experience in dental clinic or dental office settings is highly desirable.
