We are seeking a dedicated and professional Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dental and medical administrative support, with excellent communication skills and a passion for providing outstanding patient care. This role involves managing front desk operations, assisting with clinical procedures, and ensuring seamless office workflow. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of handling multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Greet patients warmly, verify insurance coverage, and schedule appointments using dental practice management software such as Abeldent.
Assist dentists during procedures by preparing instruments, taking X-rays, and ensuring patient comfort.
Manage patient records accurately.
Perform insurance verification, billing, and coding
Handle phone inquiries professionally using multi-line phone systems, providing exceptional patient service and appointment coordination.
Maintain organized dental records, process intake forms, and review documentation for accuracy and completeness.
Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, managing medical supplies, and office management duties to ensure efficient clinic operations.
Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office applications and dental-specific software like Abeldent
Uphold confidentiality standards in accordance with HIPAA guidelines while managing health information systems.
Assist with clinic operations including medical scheduling, insurance verification, and care plan documentation to enhance patient experience.
Qualifications
Prior experience in a dental office or healthcare setting with strong knowledge of dental terminology and clinical procedures.
Abeldent required
Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities.
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy clinic environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
Strong clerical skills including filing, data entry (10 key typing), and document review; office experience is essential.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to health information management; familiarity with dental terminology is a plus.
