Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring infection control, and maintaining accurate medical documentation. Duties

Assist dentists during various procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric treatments. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques. Record vital signs and medical history information accurately in electronic health records (EMR systems). Operate dental imaging equipment such as 3D scanners and medical imaging devices. Maintain patient comfort through effective chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques. Manage medical documentation including medical records, coding, and documentation of procedures performed. Ensure infection control standards are strictly followed to prevent cross-contamination. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow as a dental receptionist when needed. Educate patients on oral health care and post-treatment instructions using appropriate dental terminology.

Requirements

Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Proficiency with EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic or similar platforms. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality. Experience with X-ray techniques and medical imaging equipment including 3D scanners. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform chairside assisting for various specialties including pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and periodontics. Certification in radiography or X-ray technology preferred. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in medical documentation and records management. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages and team members.
