Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our family friendly dental practice in North Oshawa. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental office while helping us grow our new practice. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials. Prepare treatment rooms in accordance with infection control and practice protocols and ensure all equipment is ready for use. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed. Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and treatment plans. Maintain accurate patient records using dental software - experience with Oryx is an asset. Help manage patient flow to optimize office efficiency. Must be comfortable working with pediatric patients and assisting with oral surgery.

Experience

Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred but not mandatory; we welcome candidates eager to learn. Level II certification is an asset. Experience with pediatrics, IV conscious moderate sedation, wisdom tooth extractions, implant placement and periodontal surgery is a plus but not required. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for managing patient records and office tasks. Excellent interpersonal skills to create a welcoming environment for patients.

Pay: $22.00-$27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 44 per week
