We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic. This position requires proficiency in various dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment for both patients and staff.
Duties
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring efficient workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques.
Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment, adhering to infection control protocols.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Maintain accurate medical documentation, including patient records and medical history, in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions.
Manage appointment scheduling, patient check-in/check-out processes, and basic dental receptionist duties.
Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for patient management.
Support pediatric dentistry needs by providing compassionate care to younger patients.
Assist with various dental specialties including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
Skills
Proficient in using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and aseptic techniques.
Experience with chairside assisting and taking vital signs.
Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and 3D scanners is a plus.
Understanding of infection control practices within a dental clinic setting.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages.
Ability to manage medical documentation and coding accurately.
Previous experience in a dental clinic environment is preferred but not mandatory.
Knowledge of pediatric care principles is advantageous.
