Markham Dental Group is seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. Canadian Accredited Dental Assisting Certificate Level 1 or 2 is required. Must be fluent in English and Cantonese or Mandarin.

Responsibilities:
Prepare patients for examinations and treatments, providing them with comfort and support throughout their visit.
Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for various dental procedures, ensuring that all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use.
Provide chairside assistance to dentists during dental procedures
Take dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed, following safety protocols.
Maintain accurate patient records using dental software such as Cleardent , Tracker or Dentrix.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Sterilize instruments and maintain cleanliness in the treatment area according to infection control protocols.
Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays) as instructed by the dentist.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions.
Perform basic laboratory procedures, including pouring and trimming models, fabricating temporary crowns, and taking impressions.
Schedule appointments and manage patient flow within the office.
Manage inventory of dental supplies and order as needed.
Participate in maintaining and upkeeping of the clinic in a pleasant and comfortable condition.
Handle administrative tasks such as billing, insurance verification, and patient check-in/check-out processes.
Must ensure patient confidentiality and privacy at all times.
Skills
Proficiency in dental assisting techniques and procedures.
Familiarity with dental software systems, particularly Cleadent, Tracker or Dentrix is a plus
Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry.
Experience in Implant or orthodontics is a plus.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
Previous experience as a dental receptionist is advantageous.
