We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant Level II to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of dental procedures, infection control, and medical documentation, with a strong focus on providing exceptional patient care. This role involves supporting dentists during various dental procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring a clean and safe clinical environment. Experience with Cleardent Software is highly desirable. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment specializing in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics.
Duties
Assist dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available
Take and develop X-rays, including 3D scans, adhering to proper aseptic techniques and radiation safety protocols
Record vital signs and medical history updates while maintaining accurate dental/medical records in Cleardent software
Manage patient check-in/check-out processes as a dental receptionist when needed
Ensure infection control standards are strictly followed according to HIPAA regulations and OSHA guidelines
Educate patients on oral health care instructions post-treatment
Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding for accurate documentation
Support the dental team with administrative tasks related to medical documentation and records management
Adhere to all infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety
Experience
Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is required, with familiarity in general dentistry procedures
Experience with pediatric dentistry is preferred but not mandatory
Proficiency with Cleardent is highly advantageous
Knowledge of dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, vital signs measurement, and medical imaging
Understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and medical documentation standards
Certification or training in X-ray procedures and pediatric dentistry is a plus
Strong communication skills combined with a professional attitude are essential for success in this role
