Surgical Dental Assistant (Level II) - Windsor Oral Surgery

We provide on-site sedation for patient comfort and also perform advanced surgical cases in our local hospitals.
We are seeking a
Level II Surgical Dental Assistant
to join our team. If you are passionate about helping others, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and want to work alongside a progressive oral surgeon, we would love to meet you. This position is Monday to Friday with no evenings or weekends.
Key Responsibilities
Assist Dr. Multari in all surgical procedures, including those performed under local anesthesia, nitrous oxide, and IV sedation.
Support patient consultations by preparing medical histories, x-rays, medication lists, and lab work for review.
Capture and process radiographs (periapical, panoramic, CBCT) and perform required calibration and safety checks.
Lead infection control practices, including instrument sterilization, equipment disinfection, and documentation of logs/biological indicators.
Prepare operatories and anticipate surgical needs, ensuring all instruments, supplies, and technology are ready in advance.
Perform dental lab duties such as impressions, model pouring, and trimming.
Provide chairside assistance in hospital-based procedures (extractions, bone grafting, biopsies, trauma care, and orthognathic surgery).
Manage inventory and maintain positive vendor relationships.
Collaborate with the administrative team to communicate treatment plans effectively.
Qualifications & Skills
Level II Dental Assistant Certification
(with HARP certification).
Prior experience in a general and/or specialty dental practice is required.
Surgical assisting experience is an asset.
Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care and reassurance.
Calm, reliable, and adaptable in a fast-paced surgical environment.
Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of anticipating needs.
Team-oriented with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
