Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dental team in various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures, as well as proficiency in dental software systems. Canadian experience is preferred.

Duties

Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow. Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment before and after procedures. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed. Maintain patient records accurately using software such as Akitu One. Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions. Schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently, including handling inquiries at the front desk when necessary. Stay updated on medical terminology and advancements in dental assisting practices.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred, with knowledge of orthodontics being a plus. Familiarity with dental software systems such as Dentrix or Epic is highly desirable. Strong understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and team members. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Certification in Dental Assisting is mandatory.
