Responsibilities

Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed, adhering to safety protocols. Maintain accurate patient records using dental software such as Dentrix and Epic. Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and treatment plans. Sterilize instruments and maintain cleanliness in the treatment area according to infection control protocols. Schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently, including handling inquiries at the front desk when necessary. Work collaboratively with the dental team to ensure a positive patient experience.

Skills

Proficiency in dental assisting techniques and practices, including knowledge of CAD (Computer-Aided Design) applications for dental work. Understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry, orthodontics, pediatrics, and general dental care. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and team members. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
