Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a blend of technical skills, patient interaction, and administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of our dental clinic.

Duties



Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and maintain the dental operatory, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed, adhering to safety standards. Manage patient records and documentation in accordance with HIPAA regulations, including medical records and medical documentation. Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for efficient patient management. Conduct preliminary assessments by taking vital signs and gathering medical history from patients. Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures, including general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Maintain inventory of dental supplies and equipment while ensuring cleanliness in the clinic environment. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow effectively.

Skills



Proficient in using EMR systems including Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for patient management. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus; familiarity with 3D scanners is advantageous. Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical coding, and medical imaging practices. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining a calm demeanor under pressure. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and team members. Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred; familiarity with vital signs monitoring is beneficial. Pay: $20.00-$27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37 per week
