As the first point of contact for our patients, the ideal candidate will be both welcoming and efficient--someone who takes pride in their work, stays organized under pressure, and contributes positively to a team-driven atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and check in patients in a warm, professional manner
Schedule, confirm, and manage appointments
Handle insurance claims, pre-authorizations, and billing procedures
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
Support the clinical team in maintaining smooth day-to-day operations
Provide clear communication and support to patients throughout their visit
Additional Key Responsibilities:
Answer incoming phone calls and respond to inquiries in a professional and timely manner
Manage and verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to appointments
Process payments, issue receipts, and balance daily financial transactions
Coordinate follow-up care, recalls, and treatment plan scheduling
Prepare and submit insurance claims and follow up on outstanding accounts
Ensure compliance with privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA) and clinic protocols
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk and reception area
Communicate effectively with dental assistants, hygienists, and dentists regarding patient flow and scheduling changes
Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to a positive office culture
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a dental office or customer service
role is required
Ability to multitask and manage a busy front desk environment
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Positive attitude and a professional work ethic
Familiarity with dental software (ideally Abel dent) is considered an asset
