Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome patients as they arrive at the dental office
- Answer phone calls and schedule appointments for patients
- Verify insurance coverage and collect necessary information from patients
- Maintain patient records and update electronic medical records (EMR) system
- Assist with billing and insurance claims processing
- Coordinate referrals to specialists as needed
- Provide excellent customer service and address patient inquiries or concerns
- Manage the front desk area and ensure it is clean and organized
Skills:
- Administrative skills, including data entry, filing, and record keeping
- Proficiency in office software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office)
- Experience as a dental receptionist or in a similar role within a dental or medical office setting is an asset
- Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures
- Experience with Power Practice is considered an asset
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling patient information
- Familiarity with phone systems and ability to handle incoming calls professionally
