We are currently hiring a dental office administrator to join our innovative and dynamic portable dental hygiene team. Experience with children and youth is an asset. Own Transportation: This position is for a portable dental hygiene clinic. A valid Alberta driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and personal vehicle is required as the worksite will vary daily. Physical fitness: Please note, as a portable dental hygiene clinic, ability to lift equipment up to 50lbs is required. Asset (not required): Cultural Safety Training, additional languages, and Curve Dental software experience Description Are you looking for a new challenge? This may be the new adventure for you! We are currently hiring an exceptional dental administrator to join our new, innovative portable dental hygiene team. The successful candidate will have a passion for being of service, and building strong culturally safe, patient-centered relationships that contribute to increasing the oral health of their community. As a dental administrator with our team, you will have the opportunity to work with other like-minded teammates in a new learning health system organization. Dental hygiene services will be provided onsite in a variety of settings, which may include in schools K-12, seniors, shelters, immigration agencies, and more. Position Hours/Days: Full-time position, M-F 8:00am-4:30pm, some evenings and weekends may be required Job Overview: Working with a team of dental hygienists to deliver portable dental hygiene services to priority populations in Calgary. These locations include partnerships with local schools, seniors\xe2\x80\x99 homes, and organizations serving newcomers and those experiencing homelessness. Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Perform administrative tasks to enable delivery of dental hygiene services to patients
  • Administrative tasks including scheduling, invoices, billing, insurance claim submissions, etc
  • Greet patients upon arrival and update their personal and medical information
  • Answer phone calls professionally
  • Communicating with patients and parents/guardians/caregivers regarding services needed and rendered
  • Stewardship of Nation\xe2\x80\x99s Dental partners, organizations, and patient relationships
  • Manage the day-to-day clinic schedule of the dental hygiene practice
  • Treatment coordination using Curve software, phone, email, and text messages
  • Respond efficiently to patient needs and inquires, and work towards improving the overall patient experience
  • Ensure each patient understands their treatment options, insurance coverage and benefits plans
  • Equipment reprocessing, when needed.
  • Transporting and setting up portable dental hygiene clinics with the dental hygiene team
  • Other day to day duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • A valid Alberta driver\xe2\x80\x99s license
  • Minimum 2 years experience in dental office administration
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English, other languages an asset
  • Proficient computer skills particularly Microsoft outlook, One Drive, Word, and Excel
  • Certification in Dental Assisting an asset
  • Experience with Curve Software an asset (training provided)
  • Experience working with priority populations and/or public health an asset
