Demolition & Closure Project Manager

Our Atlantic Canada team is looking to fill a Project Manager position in our growing Canadian Operations. This position can be based in either our Fredericton, New Brunswick or Halifax, Nova Scotia office.

Overview of responsibilities

  • Support the team working on a diverse range of clients and engineering projects including, demolition and site closure projects
  • Produce design calculations and contribute to the formulation of design concepts and technical specifications for demolition and site closure projects
  • Assist in quantity take-off and cost estimating assignments
  • Coordinating internal GHD environmental disciplines and external sub-consultants
  • Attending and presenting in client meetings
  • Preparing closure reports, pre-feasibility and feasibility level studies, technical reports and hazardous material survey reports
  • Preparing proposals for demolition plans, hazardous materials surveys and site closure studies
  • Deliver and be accountable for technical assignments
  • Oversee contractors during site closure and demolition works
  • Provide contract administration support to clients during closure and demolition projects
Skills and qualifications (Scientist will also be considered if they meet the qualification requirements):
  • A post-secondary education in environmental science, civil engineering, structural engineering, building science or a related discipline
  • 5 - 7 years project experience with a specific focus within the demolition and/or site closure field would be preferred. Experience in building construction, hazardous material abatement projects and environmental remediation also considered an asset.
  • Quantity take-off and/or estimating experience is advantageous
  • Experience in all stages of the project life-cycle, from preparing bids, field work oversite, to data analysis and reporting
  • Strong written and verbal skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues concisely
  • Adaptability and a flexible approach to working across a variety of projects
  • Valid driver\'s license + vehicle (required for this role)
