ABOUT THE ROLE



The Delivery Specialist plays a vital role in the day-to-day operations of LakeCity Works, supporting logistics, customer service, and cross-functional coordination. This hands-on position is responsible for planning and executing product deliveries across multiple business units, ensuring safe, timely, and professional service to both residential and commercial customers. The ability to confidently drive and operate a cube van and trailer, while delivering a high-quality fulfillment experience, is essential to maintaining customer satisfaction.

The Delivery Specialist also serves as a key link between our various functions and our customers and plays an essential part in supporting operational flow, upholding quality standards, and promoting safe working practices. Success in this role requires an entrepreneurial mindset, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement in a values-driven, community-focused environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



Plan and execute deliveries across all LakeCity Works business units to commercial and residential customers, ensuring efficiency, safety, and a high standard of service Drive and operate a cube van and trailer confidently and safely, conducting pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and reporting any issues promptly Assemble, install, or set up delivered goods as needed, ensuring items meet quality and customer satisfaction standards Maintain detailed delivery records, including routes, mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents or concerns Deliver warm, professional customer service both in our retail showroom and on delivery sites, acting as a knowledgeable and approachable representative of LakeCity Champion safe working practices, proactively identifying and addressing safety risks in your work and encouraging a culture of safety among team members and participants Collaborate across teams, supporting staff and participants with empathy, professionalism, and a spirit of mentorship Contribute ideas for improving logistics, customer service, and operational efficiency

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES



REQUIRED:

Proven experience in customer service, logistics, or operations, ideally in a fast-paced, hands-on environment Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan and manage delivery schedules and routes with efficiency Valid Nova Scotia Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving abstract Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset Knowledge of safe working practices and a proactive approach to workplace safety Experience and comfort operating a cube van and trailer Ability to safely lift and move heavy items (50lbs unaided, more when aided by delivery aid or specialized equipment) and perform physical tasks, including assembling and setting up furniture with the help of a delivery aide and specialized tools/equipment Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on continuous improvement, quality outcomes, and customer satisfaction Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with a high level of accountability
DESIRED:

Valid Fork Lift Operators certification Basic mechanical or woodworking skills considered a strong asset Familiarity working with individuals facing barriers to employment, particularly related to mental health Note: Due to the nature of our work, employees must Consent to a Criminal Record check.
