Delivery Logistics Coordinator

Job Description

As a key member of the Operations Support Team, reporting to the Logistics Manager, the Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for proactively directing and dispatching the daily work schedules of Drivers to effectively and efficiently meet customer delivery needs. The Logistics Coordinator will also review and manage orders, removing obstacles and be responsible for updating and maintaining re-occurring fuel orders and daily activity within the routing system.
What you'll do:

  • Build positive, collaborative relationships with all points of contact and work collaboratively to utilize available resources to successfully meet customer needs and expectations.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Drivers, dispatching daily work and ensuring order fulfillment. Monitor the progress and execution of the work plans and adjust schedules accordingly to minimize and prevent out of gas (OOG) occurrences.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues encountered by the Driver, including routing or scheduling issues or conflicts, and activate fleet contingency plans when necessary.
  • Confirm and verify delivery appointments, reschedule appointments and complete account maintenance as required to increase efficiency and to prevent OOG occurrences and improve response / delivery time to customers. Conduct interval analysis to ensure effective and timely delivery and minimal OOG to optimize the workbench.
  • Ensures customers are aware of delivery challenges that might affect their delivery.
  • Collaborate with Field Management to update and provide feedback on day-to-day operations, staffing activities and the achievement of performance standards. Immediately notify the Field Management of any safety, performance and attendance issues or successes. The Market Manager, as the direct manager of the Driver, will then manage the situation accordingly, addressing performance gaps to performance standards.
  • Ensure the integrity of data within the ADD ERP System & Roadnet's Transportation Suite.
  • Review, manage, and report on daily delivery transactions working with the Delivery Manager to achieve KPI targets.
What you bring:
  • Minimum grade 12 education, preferably with relevant post-secondary education, and/or technical certification in operations or logistics.
  • Minimum three (3) years previous logistics and dispatch experience in a fast paced, hands on environment.
  • Superior verbal communication skills and the ability to present information to a variety of audiences.
  • Exceptional ability to plan, organize and forecast.
  • Strong ability to analyze data, including KPIs and use this information to solve problems and continuously improve performance.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment that requires multi tasking and changing priorities.
  • Ability to build relationships, internally and externally, and lead through influence.
  • Intermediate computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office, are required.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience working within an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system and in the use of routing and scheduling technology. Experience with Roadnet would be considered an asset.
  • Working knowledge of applicable National and Provincial regulations with respect to Propane activities would be an asset.
  • Working knowledge of applicable Departments of Transportation and Employment Standards as it relates specifically to the trucking/driving and transportation of dangerous goods.
  • Safety and technical knowledge, with the ability to respond effectively to emergencies.
