DESCRIPTION:

de la terre bakery is seeking a part time Delivery Driver to join our team.

Our vision at de la terre is to be the leading bread, pastry, and coffee producer in the region. We work hard to create a vibrant community hub, focused on pleasure, sustenance, stewardship, community and creativity. With this position we are looking for someone to support our production team by delivering orders to both our wholesale accounts and retail customers in the St. Catharines, Hamilton, Burlington and Toronto area.

The Delivery Driver position is a part-time position. The ideal candidate will be passionate, efficient and responsible with a clean driving record. Applicants must have morning availability Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Applicants must be able and comfortable lifting up to 45lbs at once, have a valid driver's licences, be a confident driver, and be 25 years of age or older. Punctuality is very important in this role as product cannot arrive late to our wholesale accounts. Applicants must have strong problem-solving skills and must enjoy working independently.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Properly and safely loading product into company vehicles, ensuring the van is loaded in a manner that is most efficient for loading and unloading and keeps quality of product intact. Complete all deliveries, and pick-ups as necessary, to all destinations including wholesale accounts and home deliveries. Conduct daily pick-ups of reusable crates and bins from all wholesale accounts and unloading once back at the bakery. Meet prescribed drop off and pick up times, obtaining signatures from all wholesale accounts at the time of delivery whenever applicable. Drive in a safe and defensive manner at all times, avoiding careless errors at all costs. Produce and maintain excellent and accurate records as required, making sure any payments and adjustments to invoices are returned to the office the same day. Any missed, incomplete, or incorrect orders must be communicated to the Manager as soon as possible. Maintain a positive and professional image when delivering to all accounts and customers. Maintaining the company vehicle, including keeping the van clean, organized, topped up with fuel, and taking initiate to communicate any repairs or maintenance needed.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Strong time management skills needed to meet outlined delivery times. Applicants must have a good driving record, a full G license and must be over 25 years of age. Applicants must be reliable, punctual, have strong problem-solving skills and must be comfortable working independently. Physically able to lift 45lbs on a regular basis. Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary. Comfortable handing cash and cheques and reading invoices and packing slips.

Pay: $17.60-$18.00 per hour
