We are seeking a reliable and motivated Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods to various locations while ensuring timely and safe deliveries. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and adherence to safety regulations. The Delivery Driver will operate various types of vehicles, including commercial trucks, and may also be involved in the loading and unloading of freight.
Duties
Safely operate delivery vehicles, including commercial trucks, to transport goods to designated locations.
Load and unload freight, ensuring that all items are secured properly during transit.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
Maintain accurate delivery logs and records, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery confirmations.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road.
Assist in the maintenance of the vehicle by performing basic automotive repairs as needed.
Requirements
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; commercial driving experience is preferred.
Experience operating heavy equipment or forklifts is a plus.
Strong understanding of freight handling procedures and safety protocols.
Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading freight.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
Basic knowledge of automotive repair is advantageous but not required.
