The Grocery Delivery Driver is responsible for delivering groceries and household essentials to residential customers in a safe, timely, and professional manner. This role ensures excellent customer service while representing the company brand during every delivery interaction. Drivers must handle products with care, follow delivery schedules, and maintain accurate records.
Key Responsibilities
Pick up packaged grocery orders from store or warehouse locations.
Safely and efficiently deliver groceries to residential customers within assigned routes.
Provide outstanding customer service while handling customer inquiries politely and professionally.
Use company delivery apps or handheld devices to manage routes, confirm deliveries, and capture customer signatures.
Ensure all items are handled with care, including fresh, frozen, and fragile products.
Follow traffic laws, safety guidelines, and company delivery procedures at all times.
Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the delivery vehicle.
Report any delays, incidents, or vehicle issues to the supervisor.
Assist with loading and unloading delivery items when necessary.
Work efficiently to meet daily delivery targets and on-time performance standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and personal car required
Previous delivery or customer service experience preferred but not required.
Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs (or company standard).
Comfortable using smartphones, GPS systems, and delivery apps.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
Work Environment
Driving for extended periods.
Frequent lifting, carrying, and climbing in/out of a delivery vehicle.
