Job Title: Deli Manager

Department: Deli

Overview:

To ensure the efficient functioning of the deli department, providing customers with the best quality of deli, cheese and pasta products, ensuring courteous, timely customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensuring exceptional customer service is provided in a courteous manner to maintain our reputation for friendly, effective, and personalized experience

• To direct and supervise all deli staff to secure efficient and courteous customer service;
• To order deli/cheese and pasta products and supplies;
• To be responsible for organizing and setting up the department, ensuring proper signage is received, made up and put up correctly;
• To ensure all price changes are processed and \xe2\x80\x9cspecial\xe2\x80\x9d items are identified;
• To maximize sales and gross profit, ensuring sales\xe2\x80\x99 goals and budgets are met;
• To organize any damages and be responsible for ensuring all returns are taken care of;
• To train new employees;
• To schedule all deli clerks ensuring the strict control of wage costs;
• To interpret and administer Company policy and ensure compliance with the union contract;
• To ensure the maintenance of equipment and the safety and sanitation of the department;
• To respond to any customer inquiries, requests, and complaints, ensuring courteous customer relations at all times.

The Ideal Candidate Would Possess:

• Exceptional customer service skills

• The ideal candidate must possess a minimum of 2-5 years\xe2\x80\x99 deli experience in a retail grocery environment. Previous management experience a definite asset;
• Flexibility to work a variety of hours including days, evenings, and weekends;
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure;
• Excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
