Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Deli Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while preparing and serving a variety of deli products. You will play a key role in ensuring that our customers have a positive experience, from taking orders to maintaining cleanliness in the deli area.

Responsibilities



Greet customers warmly and assist them with their selections, ensuring a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Prepare and serve deli items including meats, cheeses, salads, and sandwiches according to company standards. Operate the cash register efficiently, handling cash transactions accurately and providing change as needed. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area, adhering to food safety regulations and company policies. Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and helping with restocking as necessary. Upsell products to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours. Follow all food preparation guidelines and safety procedures in the kitchen environment.

Skills



Previous experience in cashiering or cash handling is preferred. Familiarity with food preparation techniques in a restaurant or food industry setting is beneficial. Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods. Ability to sanitize work areas effectively to maintain health standards. Excellent communication skills to interact positively with customers and team members. Experience with upselling techniques to enhance customer engagement is a plus. A passion for helping others and providing excellent customer service is essential.

Qualifications:



Previous experience working in a deli or food service environment preferred. Strong work ethic and a willingness to take on various tasks as needed. Excellent attention to detail and cleanliness standards. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude. Good communication and customer service skills. Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ontario workers health and safety awareness training in 4 steps completed with certificate of completion. Food handlers certification preferred but not required.
