As a

Database Administrator

, you will primarily be responsible for the implementation and support for DB2 databases. In addition, you will contribute to the development and configuration of new features to enhance all of our supported platforms.

Responsibilities

Ensures acceptable database availability and response time by leading problem diagnosis and resolution in a high availability multi-datacenter environment Proactively monitor for performance and availability issues to ensure smooth and efficient database operations Provide timely and effective problem resolution during regular work hours Configure and install business-critical databases based on business requirements gathered from application development teams and business users Ensures compliance with audit, security, and regulatory requirements Provide DBA support for complex software installation and maintenance, including major upgrades Understanding of and commitment to protecting the integrity, security and privacy of the firm's critical business data Support data replication, backup, and availability solutions

Requirements

5+ years of development and administrative experience with DB2 zOS Knowledge of SQL including XML, triggers, functions and stored procedures Knowledge of DDL and DCL Knowledge of utilities and database commands Experience with database tools such as Toad, BMC, OEM, db2top Experience with large OLTP databases or data warehouses Experience with Unix scripting Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science or a related field or equivalent work experience EST/CST Time Zone

This posting includes a good base salary range EPAM Canada would reasonably expect to pay the selected candidate. Individual compensation offers within the range are based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, training, the demand for the role, skillset, and overall business and local labour market considerations. Most candidates are hired at a salary within the range disclosed. Salary range: CA$135,000-CA$150,000 per hour.
