Our Saskatchewan government client is seeking a Database Administrator to join their team on an initial 8-month contract to support multiple high-profile network capital-based projects. This role is integral to ensuring the seamless integration and administration of IBM DB2, Oracle, and SQL databases, supporting program application teams in delivering projects on time and within budget. Responsibilities
The successful Resource(s) will undertake the subsequent tasks and responsibilities, which include but are not limited to the following for IBM DB2, Oracle and SQL databases:
  • Deployment of database solutions
  • Database storage and capacity planning
  • Disaster recovery
  • Day-to-Day database administration and maintenance
  • Establish and deploy database standards.
  • Performance monitoring and tuning
  • Establish and maintain database security.
  • Configuration, upgrade, and migration
Qualifications
  • Experience implementing IBM DB2, Oracle and SQL database solutions.
  • Experience developing and implementing data strategies, building and documenting data flows from source systems to target Data Warehouse(s)
  • Experience creating scripts to move data into the target environment to ensure there is consistency in the Data collection.
  • Experience performing an assessment on the database environment including but not limited to identifying hardware, hardware utilization, licensing, versioning, existing HA solutions, maintenance plans.
  • Cloud Expertise: Sound knowledge of Microsoft Azure - IaaS and experience in integrating on-premises environments with cloud platforms.
  • Experience in ITIL and Change Management
  • Project Implementation: Proven track record of implementing network technologies to support organizational projects.
  • Collaborative Skills: Experience collaborating within multi-disciplinary project teams, ensuring cohesive and effective networking solutions.
  • Enterprise-Level Understanding: Comprehensive understanding of enterprise-level databases to address complex infrastructure needs.
  • Experience analyzing data-related system integration challenges and propose appropriate solutions, while adhering to strict privacy and security governance policies
