About IDEA Lab Kids St. Albert
IDEA Lab Kids St. Albert is a premium hands-on STEAM education centre offering creative, project-based programs for children ages 5-12. Our programs focus on science, technology, engineering, art, and culinary creativity through guided exploration and small-group instruction.
We are growing our daytime programming, including in-school STEAM residencies, on-the-go school partnerships, and daytime programs at our centre, and are looking to add talented Daytime STEAM Instructors to support this work.
About the Role
This role is ideal for individuals who are consistently available during weekday daytime hours and enjoy working with children in a structured, creative learning environment.
While specific shifts may vary, candidates must be reliably available within the 8:00 AM-3:00 PM time window, Monday to Friday. Hours will be scheduled in advance based on program needs across school partnerships and in-center programming.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and engage children through hands-on STEAM lessons and activities designed for groups of children ages 5-12
Assist with leading in-school STEAM residency lessons, field trips, and on-site programming at partner schools
Support daytime programs delivered at the IDEA Lab Kids St. Albert center
Follow lesson plans and adapt activities to different age groups
Prepare materials, assist with setup and cleanup, and maintain organized program spaces
Maintain a safe, engaging, and positive learning environment
Communicate professionally with IDEA Lab team staff, school partners, and families as needed
Availability Requirements
Weekday availability required between 7:30 AM-3:30 PM
Reliable daytime availability is essential
This role is not suitable for current full-time students
Daytime availability does not guarantee hours, but consistent availability within this window is required to be considered for scheduling.

Qualifications

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older
Valid Vulnerable Sector Check (or willingness to obtain)
Clean Driving History
ECE certification is an asset but not required.
Compensation
Starting wage: $17.50/hour
