The Calgary Drop-In and Rehab Centre (\xe2\x80\x9cthe DI\xe2\x80\x9d) is a low-barrier, housing-focused shelter that serves some of the city\xe2\x80\x99s most vulnerable people. At the DI, we focus on providing a person\xe2\x80\x99s basic needs, while doing everything possible to find them a permanent, safe home that meets their individual needs. Position Summary

Reporting to the Director, Employee Services, the Dayforce Consultant will be responsible for enhancing, optimizing and customizing Dayforce to meet the agency\'s operational user needs, as well as implementing and testing these enhancements. The ideal candidate will work with Agency leaders, to ensure continual improvement and the provision of integrated HR solutions aligned with the agency\'s strategies and values. In addition, the Dayforce Consultant will act as a consultant to all levels of the organization, supporting leaders, managers, and colleagues to establish strong partnerships and increase knowledge of Dayforce user functionalities.

The ideal candidate will have experience in preparing system-related documentation, e.g., business requirements, fit/gap analysis, functional specifications, training materials, and user manuals. They will be able to work with clients at all organizational levels to define business processes and provide advice on the use of Dayforce to support Agency operational requirements.

Time Commitment

This is a full-time position comprised of normal business weekday hours, however there will be requirements to be available and flexible from time to time outside normal business hours as the need arises. Schedule may be altered at the discretion of management.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Proactively identifies business needs/requirements and designing business processes, analysis, planning, configuration, testing, documentation, troubleshooting and end-user support as it relates to the Dayforce user functionalities

Provide expert guidance to employees on Dayforce configuration and processes.

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze operational requirements and develop a roadmap for optimizing Dayforce.

Make recommendations on best practices, solve complex Agency process issues, and work with the Dayforce technical team to define system specifications.

Support HR team in the implementation of programs and initiatives that require changes to existing or new software solutions.

Drive the planning, development, testing, and implementation of system enhancements and upgrades, working closely with the team and supporting Dayforce upgrades as needed.

Optimize HR business processes in collaboration with the HR team, and deliver HR technology solutions that effectively and efficiently provide service and support to the DI employees

Act as a functional expert in planning, development, implementation, upgrade, and support of Dayforce to guide the design, configuration, setup, and testing of the Dayforce application.

Keep up to date with current developments and trends in Dayforce capabilities and industry knowledge.

Work with IT and external vendors to implement changes related to application maintenance, configuration modification, system upgrades and enhancements as required

Oversee system upgrades and implement new modules (Recruitment, Onboarding, Payroll, Time & Attendance, Reporting, and Performance Management), in partnership with Dayforce Support, HR, and IT.

Lead User Acceptance testing, create user training guides on Dayforce processes and facilitate learning sessions on system functionalities and navigations

Identify opportunities for automating HR processes and evaluate data processing to ensure data integrity.

Conduct regular audits of Dayforce data, review findings and rectify any inconsistencies.

Stay up to date on HRIS trends and their relevance to the organization\'s strategy.

Review organization-wide access management and governance, ensuring compliance with data security and privacy requirements.

Required Competencies and Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of five years\' experience working with HRIS systems, with at least four years\' experience using Dayforce.
  • Demonstrate high levels of technical and professional knowledge and quickly assimilate new knowledge.
  • Project management skills, with experience in implementing HR strategies, configuration, and database management.
  • A thorough understanding of information systems, with highly technical expertise in Dayforce.
  • Strong business intelligence reporting skills, and the ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Experience participating in or leading continuous improvement projects.
  • The ability to navigate ambiguity and lead change.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility in switching between project work and administrative tasks.
  • A proven track record of success working under minimal supervision.
  • Experience working in a 24/7 operation would be an asset.
  • Resilience, stress tolerance, and the ability to remain calm and focused when dealing with a high volume of volatile and stressful situations.
  • The ability to make rational decisions based on provided information and employ critical thinking where information may not be clear.
  • High morals, ethics, and integrity, demonstrating initiative and working autonomously.
  • Energy and self-direction, with effective time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

  • Experience working in a 24/7 operation would be an asset.
