Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Daycare Assistant to join our early childhood education team. This role involves supporting the development, safety, and well-being of young children in a nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for working with children, possess strong caregiving skills, and be committed to creating a positive and engaging atmosphere for our young learners. Prior classroom experience and familiarity with working with children with disabilities are highly valued.

Duties

Assist lead teachers in implementing daily activities and lesson plans tailored to early childhood development Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, ensuring safety at all times Support children with their individual needs, including those with disabilities or special requirements Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment Engage children in educational games, arts and crafts, and social activities to promote learning and social skills Foster positive behavior by encouraging cooperation, sharing, and respectful interactions among children Communicate effectively with parents regarding daily activities and children's progress Assist with feeding, diapering, and other caregiving responsibilities as needed

Qualifications

Prior experience working with children in a classroom or caregiving setting is preferred Experience working with children with disabilities is a plus Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with both children and adults Compassionate, patient, and attentive to individual children's needs Ability to follow safety protocols and maintain a safe environment for all children Relevant certifications or training in caregiving or early childhood education are advantageous but not required

Pay: $18.00-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
