Job Description

The cook is responsible for duties relating to the purchasing, preparation and serving of snacks and meals for a daycare.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

Duties will include but are not limited to the following

Preparing snacks and lunch for toddlers, preschoolers and kindergarden aged children, up to 130 children. Ability to cook meals and bake from scratch. Must be able to make lunch accommodating dietary restrictions and allergies. Has a large knowledge of kitchen preparation and ministry of health inspections Ensuring the kitchen is kept clean and sanitary at all times, washing snack and lunch dishes, cups, cutlery, containers etc. Setting up bins for snacks and lunch Maintaining proper temperatures of food and keeping a log Ability to multi-task and work under pressure Works with a positive attitude and as a team player Have the physical stamina and ability to kneel, bend, lift and stand for extended periods. Substitute as needed in a classroom as a helper Assist in other tasks as needed CRP and First Aid required Food Handler Certificate required Hours are from 8am to 4pm

Contract length: 14 months

Pay: $21.00-$23.00 per hour
