Duties & Responsibilities:

RPN's key role is in Riverview Park's purpose driven resident centered approach to care On-Call for staff every other weekend in conjunction with the Director of Wellness Charge Nurse Duties: training employees - medication and cares, communicating with family members, contribute to a high level of care for residents to enhance their overall quality of life and holistic well-being RPN's will provide professional nursing care to Riverview Park's residents and supervise care given by non-registered support staff Responsibilities include evaluating and assessing of individualized resident care plans and keeping them up to date. Support and assist in the success of our resident centered personal care Work within our resident's multidisciplinary teams to assess our resident's individual needs Advocate for residents and assist them to be active participants in decisions related to their care and wishes while maintaining their Bill of Rights as per RHRA Build and maintain trusting relationships with residents, their families and loved ones to provide and deliver personalized holistic care Provide safe administration of medication and treatments as per doctor's orders, re-ordering medications, focusing on accuracy and quality of service therefore meeting the needs of the residents RPN's follow resident care plans evaluating and assessing as needs require ensuring to meet the standards set out by the College of Nurses of Ontario and the RHRA RPN's quickly identify and report any changes in resident status to the management team Take charge during emergency situations and follow all emergency code procedures Complete any additional tasks as assigned by management team

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario Experience in Retirement Assisted Living Demonstrates good judgment, strong leadership, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and excellent interpersonal skills Ability to perform the physical tasks of the position On-going professional development Current First Aid and CPR with AED Vulnerable Sector Check & TB Test Required COVID-19 and Flu Vaccination Strongly Recommended. Provides a caring and respectful attitude towards Riverview Park's residents, families/loved ones and their team members Knowledge of Emergency Codes, RHRA, & best practice
