Day Camp Leader Ages 6-12 The Summer Camps Leaders works as a member of the Children and Early Teens multidisciplinary team. A key responsibility of this position is to assist in planning and implementing a high quality-learning environment for children, 6 to 12 years old. The leaders will work directly with team members who will mentor and train them throughout the course of the summer. Staff will be required to attend a week of training prior to the start of their employment. Program Responsibilities:
Collaborate with team members to implement program activities on a daily basis
Ensure program area is set up appropriately to meet the development stages and needs of the campers
Facilitate and implementation of specialty programs (Science-STEM, Dance, Music, Creative Arts, Sports etc.)
Engage children in developing interest based activities
Interact in a positive manner with children, staff, parents/caregivers and volunteers
Assist with daily maintenance of program space; proper storage of equipment and program materials
Actively participate in de-briefing sessions at the completion of each day and partake in preparation for the following day
Communicate with parents daily in relation to their child\xe2\x80\x99s day and the activities they participated in
Other duties as assigned

Individuals who are enthusiastic and energetic
Genuine interest in working with children
Demonstrate an understanding of leadership skills and understanding of programming skills
Experience working or volunteering in programs with children (particularly with children 6 years and younger) in a summer camp setting
Demonstrate time management skills
Demonstrate an understanding of anti-bias philosophy
Legally eligible to work in Canada
Currently enrolled in post-secondary education related to young children an asset
Second language an asset
