We are looking for a hands-on Data Warehouse Architect to join our team to lead the delivery of a new data Warehouse to support our BI requirements. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the conception, design, development, and deployment of data architecture and data models. They will provide leadership for the architectural direction and work together with various business units to develop data warehouse platform vision, strategy, and roadmap.   • Serve as a technical database architect while reviewing design decisions as we are looking to build our next generation reporting platform, delivering reports to the lines-of-business, finance, investors, and the Board
  • End-to-end accountability during design, development, testing, deployment, and ownership of the data warehouse after release to production
  • Support the development and implementation of a data strategy that enables current and future data processing, analytics, and reporting requirements in alignment with the overall data strategy and priorities
  • Play a business-facing role working with executives and managers across the business understanding their requirements and ensuring that the technology deliveries are aligned with their business goals and strategy. Provide a positive collaborative influence by sharing ideas and fresh perspective based on prior experience(s)
  • Scrutinize our current data infrastructure to identify gaps and develop a plan to integrate current systems with a desired future state
  • Create, develop and implement appropriate data practices, standards, governance, and risk management processes for data delivery
  • Design and implement data security protocols to protect sensitive information
  • Collaborate with other IT professionals to ensure that data warehouse architecture integrates with other systems
  • Evaluate architectural and software solutions while making trade-offs designing and delivering appropriate solutions
  • Develop and maintain data models, data dictionaries, and other database documentation
  • Write reusable, testable, and efficient code
  • Perform root cause analysis of data failures and update existing processes to prevent re-occurrence of issues
  • Monitor and maintain the performance of the data warehouse platform


Qualifications
  • 5+ years? experience building highly scalable systems using MS SQL Server
  • 5+ years supporting MS PowerBI or Tableau application development including visualizations, parameters, and report optimization
  • 5+ years of hands-on TSQL, PLSQL, ANSI SQL
  • 3+ years of working on PowerBI or Tableau administration responsibilities including setting permissions, server maintenance, upgrades, patching and monitoring
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Requirement Gathering Experience
  • A solid understanding of STAR Schema
  • Data architecture GAP Analysis
  • Experience extracting data using ETL tools from APIs of SaaS systems including Salesforce, NetSuite and HubSpot
  • Expertise with multiple database platforms including relational databases (ie. SQL Server and Oracle) as well as cloud-based data warehouses such as Amazon Redshift and Snowflake
  • Strong experience with performance tuning business intelligence and database platforms for maximum performance in each technical configuration
  • Expertise with managing and mining very large internal and external data sets
  • Demonstrated experience with testing business hypotheses, asking the right questions to provoke thoughts from business users and ultimately using data to test and validate hypothesis
  • Experience building data visualization worksheets and dashboards to analyze, view and interpret data sets
  • Have a consulting mindset when working with internal clients across multiple departments of the organization
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required.
