What we seek:




OCH is currently seeking a dedicated Data Solutions Analyst. Under the guidance of the Manager, Data Programs, the Data Solutions Analyst is responsible for the execution of Ottawa Community Housing's (OCH) data strategy. The position helps build and maintain a data-driven culture by developing, implementing, and managing scalable and secure data solutions across the organization. The Analyst collaborates with internal departments and stakeholders to resolve data integration challenges, enable insights and automation, and ensure the effective use of OCH's data lake environment.

Data Solutions Analyst

, some of the things you will do include:



Data Engineering & Architecture



Design, implement, and optimize data pipelines (ETL), ingestion flows, and transformation processes using Microsoft Azure Data Factory (Data Factory) and Data Flows Gen2. Build and manage Lakehouse tables within OneLake to support analytical and operational workloads. Administer and monitor Fabric environments, including workspace management, pipeline scheduling, and storage governance. Integrate source systems (structured and semi-structured) and develop schema designs to ensure data quality and scalability. Support CI/CD practices for reusable, automated data workflows.

Analytics, Visualization & Data Governance



Prepare clean, governed datasets and maintain clear documentation for BI developers and analysts. Assist with Power BI report development, including data modelling, DAX measures, and performance optimization to ensure reports are insightful and user-friendly. Support data governance practices such as metadata management, data cataloging, lineage tracking, and secure access configuration in Fabric. Translate business questions into clear data tasks and visualizations that drive decision-making.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Continuous Improvement



Collaborate with IT teams and business subject-matter experts to ensure solutions are aligned, scalable, and secure. Understand operational and strategic data use cases across departments and provide practical, scalable solutions that meet their needs. Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, ensuring data solutions are intuitive, actionable, and aligned with business priorities. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in data practices across OCH.

What you bring:



Education & Experience:



Post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field. Minimum 3 years of professional experience in data engineering, analytics, or business intelligence roles. Proven experience with Azure cloud technologies, including Data Factory, Power BI Lakehouse, and OneLake. Exposure to Microsoft Fabric and complementary tools like Databricks or Snowflake Experience with ETL/ELT design, data modeling, and pipeline orchestration. Exposure to DevOps practices, Git version control, and deployment pipelines Certifications such as DP-203, DP-600, or related AI/Cloud credentials is an asset. Strong understanding of data lakehouse architectures, security principles, and governance. Familiarity with SQL, DAX, Power Query, and KQL (Kusto Query Language). Knowledge of data governance, privacy, and compliance standards. Understanding of Agile methodologies and data governance principles.

Oral fluency and reading and writing abilities in English is required Oral fluency and reading and writing abilities in French is an asset

Satisfactory Criminal Records Check Must posses a valid "G" driver's license or equivalent and may require access to a vehicle for business purposes.
