Your Job

We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join our Machine Learning team, a group that is focused on enabling high-quality, high-throughput analysis of ultrasound imaging using state-of-the-art computer vision machine learning techniques.

You will partner with ML engineers, ML scientists, and ultrasound researchers in the delivery of innovative image processing methods and tools. You will be responsible for designing and implementing data analysis on our core imaging dataset, including developing statistical models and data visualization deliverables to prepare, process, and present complex scientific data. You will also collaborate closely with the data analysis and software engineering teams to derive insights from our internal application usage data. Effective collaboration and an ability to deliver innovation are critical success factors for this role.

Our Team

DarkVision\'s acoustic imaging technology captures terabytes of high-fidelity data with each run. Our data analysis team plays a critical role in the commercial process by analyzing these massive ultrasound datasets using our proprietary visualization software. They are meticulous, methodical, and thorough in providing customers with critical insights that lead to multi-million-dollar actions.

What You Will Do

• Design and implement data processing techniques that augment our machine learning model development and ultrasound research.
• Develop data visualizations that enhance the impact of machine learning deliverables on the data analysis workflow; including developing innovative human-in-the-loop machine learning experiences grounded in scientific data visualization.
• Leverage your skills in exploratory data analysis, statistics, and information visualization, champion and implement a data-first development process.
• Participate in the development and operations of our core set of machine learning models that support the automation of our data analysis process.
• As part of the machine learning team, drive forward the overall engineering maturity of the team\'s processes, from system design to tools development to adoption of standard engineering practices.
• Work with our data analysis and product management teams to understand the impact of machine learning automation on our internal workflows and deliverables, from telemetry event design all the way through to analysis and insights generation.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Graduate\'s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• Experience as a data scientist, including experience with statistical analysis of application usage data, experimentation, and data visualization.
• Experience with a variety of data visualization libraries and tools and a strong understanding of data visualization design principles.
• Demonstrable experience applying machine learning techniques to real-world problems.
• Programming skills in Python, SQL, and standard data analysis and modelling frameworks such as NumPy, pandas, and scikit-learn.
• Professional experience developing solutions with cloud compute and storage solutions.

What Will Put You Ahead

• Intermediate to senior level experience as a data scientist on a SaaS product.
• Experience with dimensionality reduction and feature selection techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to drive innovation both collaboratively and independently.
• Familiarity with ultrasound imaging and computer vision.
