Data Scientist (Remote) (Canada)

Qualifications and Skills

• Relevant degree in Computer Science, Machine learning, Physics, Mathematics.
• At least 2 years of experience developing and implementing data science solutions.
• Hands on experience working on machine learning and data analysis/mining.
• A strong understanding of the principles of Statistics.
• Good understanding of ML concepts, theories and algorithms.
• Experience with using various statistics/ML libraries, e.g. Scipy, Statsmodel, SciKit, Tensorflow, or similar.
• Knowledge of Python and familiarity with Java are assets.
• Hands-on experience with Jupyter Notebooks.
• Database experience and knowledge of SQL.
• Experience with analyzing large volumes of data is an asset.
• Authorized to legally work in Canada

Nice to haves

• Familiarity with distributed systems is a plus.
• Familiarity with Spark or other Big Data technologies.
• Familiarity with AWS, GCP, Node JS, and Python are assets.
• Eager to learn and willing to take initiatives
