The position at a glance




The candidate filling this position will be responsible for the design and preparation of client and analytics data outputs and dashboards and ensuring the integrity, consistency, usefulness, quality and speed of data supporting analysis and dashboards to be prepared leveraging sustainable automation techniques. This includes, all performance metrics and analysis for GBA. Data under scope:


Internal client performance
Commercial Intensity (CRM client interactions and opportunities)
External data (Dealogic, Coalition, Cap IQ, Bloomberg, ESG data...)

In detail




The team members are responsible of the following activities:


Data Transformation, Visualization & Governance: Ensure the integrity, consistency, usefulness, quality and speed of the Client Analytics


Understand the people, process, and technology behind the data required for reporting in order to make clear decisions on the appropriate data sourcing and collection strategy
Automate the processing and normalization of data (Alteryx, SQL, Python, R,...)
Conduct analysis of the data and ensure required attributes and keys are present to support the required manipulation and dimensioning of the data
Provide analysis and reports by performing data extraction, manipulation, and designing of visualizations
Document end to end workflows and evaluate processes contributing to key data being consumed
Use visualization tools such as Tableau and PowerBI to develop interactive, actionable visualized dashboards
Ensure appropriate permissions are in place so that data is shared on a need to know basis
Implement Data quality assessment and control framework to monitor consistency and accuracy of reporting produced
Monitor Dashboard usage

Business Development Data Analytics: Identify New Growth Opportunities


Partner with Client Development to leverage advanced analytics and analytical tools developing use cases to uncover new growth opportunities
Accelerate identification of potential opportunities through automation, blending of multiple data sources and define opportunity patterns
Adjust, enhance and complement business development data analysis based on brainstorming with Client Development and feedback from the business to refine analysis and output

Client Franchise Steering Data Analytics: Develop and Maintain Strategic Reporting & Analysis


Work with Client Development to understand the reporting needs and the data required to satisfy the report requirements
Maintain existing and support enhancement requests of developed reports as needed and prioritized
Demonstrate initiative by suggesting improvements on reports
Provide support and end user training as required

Other Tasks


Elevate current state of data transformation environment
Continued investigation and research on alternative solutions and technologies to support the platforms
As needed, participate in the development and execution of special projects, partnering with senior team members and internal clients
Develop relationship with business heads to understand their business, underlying reporting needs and act as a value-added partner
Work conditions: This position provides for standard working conditions in an office and a normal work schedule from Monday to Friday. This position requires little travel.

The strengths and skills that will help you succeed




Given the vast majority of our clients, both internal and external, are based outside of Quebec and Canada, specific language requirements may apply. Knowledge of English is required.
Undergraduate degree required. Master's degree or MBA preferred
4-7 years related experience. Banking industry experience a plus
Experience working in a multi-cultural team and with internal clients
Very strong communication & presentation skills, both verbal and written
Knowledge of the English is required
Advanced analytical skills (business and data) with understanding of how to manipulate and transform data to produce valuable and relevant information for the business
Excellent interpersonal skills
Advanced organizational skills, strong attention to detail and ability to adhere to deadlines. Project management experience is a plus
CIB products / processes / business systems knowledge is a plus
Excellent data science and technical background
Solid knowledge of Tableau software, Power BI, etc
Programming languages / skills (Alteryx, Python, R, SQL...) and supporting tools
Machine Learning and NLP a plus
Familiarity with data warehouses, database technologies, and concepts
Familiarity with data transfer mechanisms between systems (API's, XML's, etc)
