Position Summary

Insight Medical Imaging, the largest provider of community radiology imaging in Northern Alberta, is seeking a motivated Data Scientist to join our growing team. This role will be instrumental in transforming data into insights that drive decision-making across the entire organization including clinical, operational, financial, and marketing domains. The ideal candidate will be engaged, collaborative, and passionate about solving real-world problems with data.

Priority Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards that deliver real-time insights across all organizational levels--from frontline teams to executive leadership. Work closely with senior management, modality supervisors, and radiologists to provide data to support business decisions. Provide marketing analytics to support the marketing team using referral trends, geographic data, and provider engagement metrics to support the strategy and territory planning of Practitioner Relations Coordinators. Assist in evaluating campaign performance, patient referral trends, and regional market behaviour to support strategic growth. Support financial and accounting analyses, including providing data to track KPIs and identifying opportunities for operational efficiencies. Conduct exploratory and predictive analyses to support organizational initiatives including patient flow, modality performance, and referral optimization. This could include, for example, creating proprietary algorithms when appropriate to support decision making. Collaborate with departments to automate reporting, improve access to information/remove unnecessary silos, and democratize data across the organization. Take ownership of special projects as assigned, including business development studies and strategic planning support.

Skills

Use various data storage and management platforms to collect, cleanse, merge, and analyze internal and external data sets. Present analytical findings in a manner understandable by technical and non-technical audiences. Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities; proven ability to work well in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects in an environment where insights can have an immediate and significant impact across the organization. Maintain a high level of confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism in all interactions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Computing Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related discipline. A Master's (or PhD) is desirable but not required. A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a Data Scientist role. Demonstrated expertise in Power BI and Excel. Experience with MSSQL is required. Experience with alternative tools like Tableau and Qlikis considered an asset but not required. Familiarity with marketing analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) is an asset but not required. SQL experience is required. Must be able to provide a clear Criminal Record Check.
