About the role:
Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Registries, eHealth Saskatchewan is seeking a results and detail-oriented individual with strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills. The position is responsible for the daily support, maintenance, error resolution and coordination of data in various repositories for the Person Health Registration System (PHRS) and Vital Statistics.
This role presents a meaningful opportunity for the successful candidate to contribute to the well-being of Saskatchewan residents by upholding the integrity, quality, and accuracy of our data. You will be someone who thrives on the finer details, takes pride in uncovering hidden inefficiencies, and enjoys diving deep into systems to make data quality better. They have a knack for giving insightful, constructive feedback that lands well and inspires action. A natural process sleuth, they find satisfaction in refining workflows and championing quality at every turn.
You will be involved in developing best practices and standards, data quality and remediation and business services such as requirement gathering, documentation, implementation, testing, training, incident management and support. This role drives efficiency and informed decision making by improving data quality, standardizing processes, and delivering end-to-end business support.
Typical daily duties:
Identify data quality issues within registry services utilizing various techniques, to resolve data quality issues within the core systems i.e. duplicate records, merging records, etc.
Seek input and collaborate using consensus driven decision making with other end users of the data within eHS and externally to the organization.
Utilize communication and change management techniques to recommend, create, and support changes to the business such as business process changes, issue identification and resolution, and data remediation activities.
provide recommendations for complex issues to management with supporting rationale based on research and analysis.
What are we looking for?
The knowledge and skills required for this role will be obtained through the completion of a certificate in Health Information Management or Health Informatics Management. In addition to education requirements, the successful candidate will have at least 1 year of experience working in data management, data analysis, or database administration. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Additional skills include:
Knowledge of information management, information collection systems and processes, data quality practices, etc., is required.
Database applications and/or software applications including Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, Outlook is required.
Knowledge and application of Vital Statistics Act and Regulations, the Change Name Act and Regulations, Medical Care Insurance and Beneficiary and Administration Regulations, Health Information Protection Act and Regulations or comparable legislation is an asset.
