:Position Summary:Under the general direction of the Manager, Systems & Architect, this position has a primary focus on data protection for Great Canadian Entertainment., responsible for the planning, design, implementation, maintenance and recovery testing of Great Canadians Data protection infrastructure. This role ensures the availability, integrity, and security of critical business data across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. Additionally, as a member of the Systems Team the role will have responsibilities of supporting a wide variety of systems in use by great Canadian entertainment. Ensures adherence to all policies and procedures while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all employees.Key Accountabilities:

  • Design, Implement, Manage, and maintain Commvault backup and Recovery solutions. Including the monitoring, troubleshooting and resolving backup failures and issues.
  • Conduct regular backup, replication and recovery testing to ensure data integrity and reliability.
  • Develop and test disaster recovery plans, ensuring data restoration within required recovery time objectives (RTOs) and recovery point objectives (RPOs).
  • Maintain detailed technical documentation of backup configurations, policies and procedures and provide monthly reviews on backup and restore failure for compliance sign off.
  • Work with IT, It Security and Compliance teams to align data protection strategies and recommend new technologies and methodologies to improve data protection and recovery processes.
  • Assume stewardship, technical authority and lifecycle management for overall performance and availability of assigned systems
  • System optimization activities including, but not limited to patching, upgrading, and performance tuning
  • Analysis, troubleshooting and resolution of system hardware, software and networking issues up to and including the operating system
  • Manage incidents and develop change requests including implementation, communication, testing and back out plans following ITIL framework
  • Maintenance of system documentation and provision of reports on maintenance contracts, SLAs and warranty information on of assigned systems
Educational and Functional Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in IT or a suitable combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience enterprise level system administration and customer service including but not limited to Microsoft systems, VMware, Citrix, Nutanix and O365, MS SQL
  • 3+ years experience in backup infrastructure and storage systems
  • Strong expertise in backup technologies, storage systems, and disaster recovery planning
  • Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and positive service-oriented Communication
  • Strong Communication and Documentation skills
  • Proven troubleshooting experience for O/S, application, network, workstation and laptop technologies
  • Strong Experience with Backup and recovery tools specifically Commvault.
  • Microsoft, VMware or Nutanix Certification
  • Backup and recovery solution certifications such as Commvault Professional or Engineer would be an asset
  • Valid Class G Drivers License
