Our client\'s organization offers property assessment services, responsible for assessing the value of property within New Brunswick. The organization plays a vital role in providing analysis, and information within their service platform.



The Data Migration Team Lead will take on a pivotal role within the project. Reporting to the Manager, Business Application Services, and supporting the Project Manager, the Data Team Lead will work collaboratively with a cross-functional team of individuals across the organization. This initiative aims to replace legacy tools and solutions used for property assessment with modern software as a service (SaaS) platform. The Data Team Lead will guide a team of 4-10 experienced resources to support the successful migration and conversion of data to the new SaaS environment. They will work closely with the Project Manager to ensure data from various sources is managed effectively, engage internal and external stakeholders for seamless data migration, and contribute to the project\'s overall business objectives.

  • Full-time contract position Mon to Fri October 2, 2023, and March 31, 2025, with the potential for extension.
  • Work location will primarily be in the Fredericton area, with some remote work potential and travel within the province as needed.
  • The successful candidate will be supplied with the necessary technology devices for the project.
  • Deliverables include leading the data team, collaborating with other teams, developing data migration strategies, overseeing data extraction and cleansing, ensuring data quality, and reporting on project status.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree in computer science or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience in information management or related work.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral.
  • Hands-on technical experience in ETL (Extract Transform Load) design and implementation involving diverse legacy systems.
  • Expertise in using data extraction, conversion, and loading tools such as SQL in Oracle, MS SQL Server, and MS Access RDBMS environments.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership experience leading diverse delivery teams for complex data migration projects, from strategy to implementation.
  • In-depth experience in data migration analysis, including data discovery, mapping, extraction, cleansing, and load.
  • Problem-solving approach with critical thinking abilities for addressing complicated issues in large-scale data migration projects.
  • Knowledge of data migration best practices, tools, and methods.
  • Experience creating, documenting, and delivering data migration strategies and plans.
  • Ability to integrate data between legacy and new systems using various data formats.
  • Familiarity with Master Data Management, Data Governance Practices, and Data Protection.
  • Experience working collaboratively within a team environment in both collaborative and autonomous modes.
  • Experience with at least one cloud SaaS implementation with significant business transformation for complex data conversion (asset).
  • Availability to work full-time during working hours (Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM AST).
