Position: Data Infrastructure Manager
Location: LavalWe are seeking a Database Manager for our client, a premier leader in manufacturing industry.
This role supports supply chain operations and is integrated into the North American Materials organization. This team works cross-functionally with business users from various departments, divisions, and organizations on all phases of assigned projects. This team is also responsible for integrating multiple heterogeneous data sources to create efficient, flexible, and scalable data warehouses and reporting solutions. The Data Infrastructure Manager must be self-motivated, enterprising and able to work independently in an ambiguous environment that is changing at a rapid pace, and have a passion for process improvement.

- Design, implement and support data warehouse infrastructure using Snowflake, SQL Server, AWS and Azure cloud technologies as well as multiple relational database management systems
- Create ELT (Extract, Load and Transform)/ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) procedures to take data from various operational systems and integrate it into a dimensional or star scheme data model for analysis and reporting
- Support data analysts and research scientists in analyzing usage data to gain new insights and fuel customer success
- Use decision support and visualization software (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau Server, Jupyter Notebooks, etc.) to enable internal non-technical customers to generate their own analytics and reports
- Generate scripts for database deployment
- Model physical/application data requirements in a data model tool, such as the ERWin Data Modeler
- Manage data models and associated artifacts in a secure source repository such as TFS or GitHub
- Obtain functional and non-functional requirements through the use of interviews, workflow analyses, requirements workshops, and surveys to provide business process descriptions, business requirements, use cases, and user stories, with minimal support
- Develop an analytical approach and apply various BA techniques with limited guidance from others
- Collaborate with subject matter technical experts to identify potential technology/vendor solutions that can meet the needs of the business and define the pros/cons of eachQualifications:
- Bachelor\'s degree required, MCSE or associated SQL certification preferred
- 2+ years of relevant experience in data modeling and data architect
- Experience in data mining and using enterprise databases with large-scale, complex datasets - Azure Data Factory and Synapse (an asset)
- Experience modeling logical/business data requirements in a data model tool, such as the ERWin data modeler
- Experience in scripting for deploying physical databases
- Experience in machine learning models is a plus
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts
- Expertise with SQL and relational database systems
- Proficiency in ETL tools and techniques
- Knowledge of more than one database platform, such as Azure, SQL Server, Snowflake, Oracle, and Teradata
- Knowledge of data normalization and de-standardization techniques
- Knowledge of project management methodology
- Six Sigma knowledge
