The opportunity: The Advancement Research Data Hygiene Assistant is responsible for reviewing and updating records using various sources and research methods. This activity includes proactive prospecting to identify prospective donors while ensuring the Alumni database has validated and current information. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring moves management activities and other relevant data is maintained to provide accurate and timely reporting to the External Relations department. Reporting to the Lead, Research and Prospect Management, Donor Relations, the ideal candidate:
Will be responsible for maintaining data hygiene within the alumni database.
Will be prospect focused when completing all activities.
The qualifications and experience we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for:
Completion of a formal training program in a related discipline from a recognized institution required.
Two years of directly related experience required.
Minimum one year experience in prospect research would be an asset.
Demonstrated experience in research methodologies and analysis of information preferred.
Demonstrated experience with data mining & analysis preferred.
An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Advanced knowledge of Raiser\'s Edge software is preferred.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel required.
Ability to perform in-house data mining preferred.
Proficient with multi-relational database software\'s and Microsoft Office programs is preferred.
Meticulous, detailed and accuracy in producing all written materials is required.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities required.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team is required.
Must enjoy working in a team environment.
Must have the ability to work with and understand a large database.
Familiarity with donor types: individual, estate, corporate, foundation, and government is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and take independent action preferred.
Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
Ability to communicate effectively, use one\'s initiative and make some decisions.
Being tactful with members of the community or public.
Understanding of the mission, history and programs, of the University of Manitoba is preferred.
Understanding of central issues in the field of philanthropy and the motivations behind charitable giving is preferred.
Experience with capital or comprehensive campaigns is preferred.
